¡Hola y bienvenidos!
Soy Serena Chini, una artista italiana afincada en Madrid.
Mi trabajo se mueve entre la pintura, la ilustración y la narración visual. Estudié Humanidades en Italia y posteriormente Ilustración en Madrid, y a lo largo de los años he desarrollado mi práctica a través de proyectos personales, trabajos editoriales y pintura.
Mis pinturas suelen partir de una imagen, una intuición o una asociación visual. Los objetos cotidianos aparecen con frecuencia en mi obra, no como el tema principal, sino como parte de un vocabulario visual que utilizo para construir imágenes y explorar conexiones, emociones y pequeñas narrativas.
Me atraen especialmente los objetos que transmiten una sensación de familiaridad: libros, plantas, cerámica, utensilios de cocina y otros elementos cotidianos. Mediante el color, la composición y la atmósfera, intento revelar algo inesperado en lo ordinario e invitar a nuevas perspectivas sobre cosas que creemos conocer.
Además de la pintura, la ilustración sigue siendo una parte importante de mi práctica creativa, especialmente en proyectos donde la metáfora, la narración y la atmósfera juegan un papel central.
Una de las razones por las que pinto es la serena alegría que surge cuando una imagen finalmente encuentra su equilibrio. Espero que este sentimiento trascienda el estudio y se convierta en parte de la vida cotidiana de otras personas.

I'm Serena Chini, an Italian artist based in Madrid.
My work moves between painting, illustration, and visual storytelling. I studied Humanities in Italy and later Illustration in Madrid, and over the years I have developed my practice through personal projects, editorial work, and painting.
My paintings often begin with an image, an intuition, or a visual association. Everyday objects frequently appear in my work—not as the subject itself, but as part of a visual vocabulary I use to build images and explore connections, emotions, and small narratives.
I am particularly drawn to objects that carry a sense of familiarity: books, plants, ceramics, kitchen objects, and other elements of everyday life. Through colour, composition, and atmosphere, I try to reveal something unexpected within the ordinary and invite new ways of looking at things we think we already know.
Alongside painting, illustration remains an important part of my creative practice, especially in projects where metaphor, storytelling, and atmosphere play a central role.
One of the reasons I paint is the quiet sense of joy that appears when an image finally finds its balance. My hope is that this feeling can travel beyond the studio and become part of someone else's everyday life.
