Beh ciao, grazie per esserti fermato! Quando ho impostato il mio negozio sulla "modalità vacanza" a dicembre 2020, avevo intenzione di riaprire a gennaio 2021. Sfortunatamente mi sono trovato bloccato dalla parte sbagliata del paese, lontano da tutto il mio inventario e le mie forniture, e siamo onesti - ero troppo stressato per dedicare tempo alla manutenzione del negozio.

Ma il 2022! Sarei tornato nel 2022, mi sono detto, e ho iniziato a lavorare per rifornire il mio inventario, creando gioielli unici nel loro genere da antiche monete romane.

E poi Etsy ha annunciato un altro aumento delle commissioni per i venditori (dopo aver registrato profitti da record, niente di meno). Per un hobbista come me, che è entrato in questo business di Etsy per divertimento (e occasionalmente qualche spicciolo in più), non è un modello sostenibile. E non è più divertente.

Quindi, dopo dieci anni, devo dire addio a Etsy. Spero di tornare un giorno, nell'attuale clima economico, non posso dire quando sarà.

Well hello, thanks for stopping by! When I set my shop to "vacation mode" back in December 2020, I fully intended to re-open in January 2021. Unfortunately I found myself stuck on the wrong side of the country, away from all my inventory and supplies, and let's be honest - I was too stressed out to devote time to upkeeping the shop.

But 2022! I'd be back in 2022, I told myself, and started working on restocking my inventory, creating one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry from ancient Roman coins.

And then Etsy announced yet another fee increase for sellers (after posting record-breaking profits, no less). For a hobbyist like me, who got into this Etsy business for fun (and occasionally some extra pocket change), it's just not a sustainable model. And it's not fun, anymore.

So with that, after ten years, I must bid Etsy farewell. I hope to return one day, in the current economic climate, I cannot say when that will be.
