MADE WITH JOY TO BRING YOU JOY
Vengo de una familia de alcantarillas. Recuerdo que crecí jugando en el suelo junto a la máquina de coser de mi madre mientras cosía ranas de bolsa de frijoles para la feria de la iglesia. A medida que crecía, ella me enseñó a coser y yo hice muchas de mis telas en mi adolescencia.
Más tarde hice cortinas y almohadas para mi casa. Y luego paños de bebé, disfraces de Halloween y, por supuesto, arreglaron un rasgón aquí y una lágrima allá. Y ahora se ha cerrado el círculo y arreglo, reparo y creo cosas para los nietos.
Todo se hizo con alegría. Me encanta sentarme frente a mi máquina y crear algo con tela plana. Las tiendas de telas son mis favoritas. Incluso si entro por un artículo rápido, parece que salgo lleno de inspiración (una billetera mucho más ligera).
Después de un poco de aliento de amigos y familiares, decidí abrir Threads 2 Stitches. Hago bolsos y carteras, decoración del hogar y artículos para niños. Pero cada día es nuevo, y nunca sé muy bien lo que se podría crear en mi sala de costura. ¡Lo único de lo que estoy seguro es que cada artículo está hecho con alegría para traerte alegría!
I come from a family of sewers. I remember growing up playing on the floor by my Mom's sewing machine as she stitched up bean bag frogs for the church fair. As I got older she taught me to sew and I made lots of my cloths in my teenage years.
Later I made curtains and pillows for my house. And then baby cloths, Halloween costumes, and of course fixed a rip here and tear there. And now it's come full circle and I fix and mend and create things for grandkids.
All of it was done with joy. I love to sit in front of my machine and create something out of flat fabric. Fabric stores are my favorite. Even if I go in for one quick item, I seem to come out full of inspiration (a a much lighter wallet).
After some encouragement of friends and family, I decided to open Threads 2 Stitches. I make bags and purses, home decor and items for children. But each day is new, and I never quite know what might be created in my sewing room. The one thing I am certain of is that each item is made with joy to bring you joy!
