Following the success of our Wedding Registry launch, we’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our growing gifting family: Etsy's Baby Registry! This new offering allows current and expecting parents to easily register on Etsy for meaningful and personalized baby, kids, and nursery gifts from makers all around the world.

With someone searching for a ‘baby item’ on Etsy every second*, it’s clear that shoppers are seeking alternatives to mass-produced baby and kids items, and this expanded Etsy Registry allows shoppers to celebrate even more of life’s special moments with gifts they can’t get anywhere else.

So, just in time for August – the most common birth month 1 – we're sharing some of the top 2023 baby and nursery trends to get parents and soon-to-be parents inspired for their little ones. Check them out below.

Vintage and Heirloom Pieces

Parents are shaking the dust off popular names of the past 2 – like Eleanor, Theodore, Evelyn and Silas – and are looking for vintage-inspired and heirloom children’s items to match. In fact, on Etsy there has been a 270% increase in searches for custom toy boxes**, an 80% increase in searches for handmade toys**, a 58% increase in searches for vintage nursery art or prints** and a 36% increase in searches for vintage baby clothes** – showing us that parents are gravitating towards time-honored pieces to add character to their kids' space and are prioritizing items made to be passed down and cherished for years to come.

Farm Animals

Taking cues from the recent popularity of Cottagecore and Western decor and style trends, farm animals are having a major moment in nursery decor. On Etsy, we’ve seen a 126% increase in searches for cow nursery items**, a 93% increase in searches for duck nursery items**, and a 21% increase in searches for chicken baby items**.
