The Jane Knickers was one of my very first patterns. It is designed to be sewn out of woven fabrics which opens up a whole world of possibilities. I’ve sewn them in everything from linen to silk charmeuse to quilting cotton! This classic pattern will walk you through how to sew a pair of bias cut bikini style panties in a variety of styles that include ruffles, keyhole cut outs and lace overlays. This pattern is a great starting point for anyone new to sewing lingerie, as it will provide you with the basic knowledge to move onto more complicated styles. I hope to provide you with techniques that you can use to create countless variations and apply to other patterns in your own collection!

Skill Level:
This pattern is suitable for those new to sewing lingerie, but already have some sewing knowledge such as how to use a sewing pattern, how to use a sewing machine and/or serger.

Suggested Fabrics:
Lightweight woven fabrics such as quilting cotton, batiste, challis, charmeuse, chiffon.

These were so much fun to sew! Perfect for a first-time project. These were the first knickers I've ever sewn, and I just bought the Grace Hipsters to try my hand at another pair. The instructions were a little tricky to understand at times but I stuck with it and used Youtube when I got confused.

Great pattern - easy to follow and the youtube video link was fab thanks. I'd tried making knickers from another designer but wasn't pleased with the finish or instructions, so was thrilled that these were so easy. I've made two pairs today!

This is my favorite panty pattern to date. I love that I can use my stash of quilting cottons to make comfortable underwear. I also love the amount of coverage and that the panties stay put. The instructions a clear and easy to follow. Also, Ohhh Lulu has some videos on youtube to help with contruction. The sizing is pretty true. My hip measurement is 41 and I'm making an xl for a perfect fit. Again, this is my FAVORITE panty pattern.
