Tutorial II is focused on how to create a realistic looking cat by felting long fiber.
Since this is an intermediate - advanced level tutorial, please prepare your favorite cat’s head in advance.
If you would like to know how to create a cat’s head and face, please refer to Tutorial I.

To this day, I got many inquiries about how to make the beautiful and fluffy long coat as you can see in my creations.
When I started needle felting, there were no detailed tutorials on how to felt hair. I developed my own method of creating long-haired animals through years of trial and error.

Now, I would like to reveal my method in this tutorial.

In this tutorial, I will first show you the most important technique of felting long fiber using colored wool.
Then I show you how to make a white long-haired cat step by step.
The kitten in the tutorial measures approximately 15 cm / 6 inches at her tip of the right ear.
After you master the method, you can scale the size of the cat up/down and also change the color of the cat according to your taste.
You can apply this method to any other long-haired animals --- dogs, rabbits, horses...

My method can be applied not only to long-haired animals but also to short-haired animals.
My short-haired animals with felted hair are so realistic and glamorous compared to ones with no felted hair.
