Nothing can fall down as elegantly as flowers. This seventeenth-century Vanitas still life by Pieter Claesz, in which impermanence is central, can accommodate real flowers. As the flowers continue to bloom, they will fit more and more beautifully into the scene. This significantly extends the life of a bouquet.
The Vanitas vase is made of Birch plywood 9 mm. Birch wood has a very light tint and a good hardness. The shapes are milled by hand and then printed with UV-resistant ink to keep discoloration to a minimum. The printed parts are then merged into a box and glued into a handmade and milled oak frame. The rear is equipped with a painting suspension system with D-rings and steel cable. The original size of the painting was used for this object.
The Vanitas vase is of course including vase. This custom 3D-printed vase is made of PLA filament. PLA is the name for thermoplastic polymers of lactic acid. This plastic lasts for a long time but is biodegradable, biocompatible and is produced from renewable plant raw materials (corn starch or sugar cane).
Includes Styling tips for the Vanitas vase with seasonal flowers, flowers that are beautifully run down and dry flowers.
This unique item is handmade in a print run of 6 pieces.
