In 2011 I started sculpting a number of ladies from clay. I liked that so much that I could be found with my hands in the clay every free moment. Soon after, I also stepped behind the potter's turntable where I first mainly struggled with the spinning clay. I have had my own turntable for a few years now and I enjoy playing pots.

Making ceramic creations continues to surprise and inspire me. I really enjoy turning the ideas I have in my head into clay. I like to make combinations of turning and modelling. Often I add something extra to a twisted dish or jar such as a face or a few small birds.

In addition to small sculptures, I make crockery and especially plant pots. The Face it!, plant pots on legs with a face and cheerful socks on, are now extremely popular.

My creations do not come from a factory by the hundreds at a time, they are all made with a lot of attention and love. My handmade products are unique, there is no second copy of them and that is what makes it so much fun.

In 2011 begon ik met het boetseren van een aantal dames van klei. Dat vond ik zo leuk dat ik elk vrij moment met mijn handen in de klei te vinden was. Al snel daarna stapte ik ook achter de pottenbakkersdraaischijf waar ik eerst vooral worstelde met de ronddraaiende klei. Inmiddels heb ik alweer een paar jaar een eigen draaischijf en ik draai met veel plezier potjes.

Het maken van creaties van keramiek blijft me verrassen en inspireren. Ik vind het ontzettend leuk om de ideeën die ik in mijn hoofd heb om te zetten in klei. Ik maak graag combinaties van draaiwerk en boetseerwerk. Vaak voeg ik aan een gedraaid schaaltje of potje nog iets extra’s toe zoals een gezicht of een paar kleine vogeltjes.

Naast kleine sculpturen maak ik serviesgoed en vooral plantenpotjes. De Face it!, plantenpotjes op pootjes met een gezicht en vrolijke sokjes aan, zijn inmiddels enorm populair.

Mijn creaties komen niet met honderden tegelijk uit een fabriek, ze worden stuk voor stuk met veel aandacht en liefde gemaakt. Mijn handgemaakte producten zijn uniek, er bestaat geen tweede exemplaar van en dat maakt het juist zo leuk.
