The box that changed our lives
My neighbor gave me a box of crap one day. Actually, a few boxes of junk I thought I'd just turn around and donate to the local thrift store or the kids in the neighborhood. You see, we lived on a bus. A converted Greyhound bus that was our home. We travel to explore new lands, see amazing places, and learn on the road. It's both exciting and mundane. We have ups and downs just like everyone else. But most of all, we have very little space for extra stuff. So when this very generous and kind neighbor said she wanted to give us more stuff I was a little nervous. The kids were excited and I chose to go with that to see where it led us.
It turns out, after careful examination and some sorting, we found we were gifted many jewels. The kids and I set out to fix the broken pieces, clean the tarnish off the vintage sets, and even create matching earrings to some necklaces. What my amazing neighbor didn't realize was she gave us a gift to become a bit more financially independent. We are forever in her debt.
