I created EngineerLaunch because there is a big gap between learning engineering in school and learning how to actually succeed at work.
I’ve spent more than 14 years working across engineering, systems engineering, project and program leadership, hiring, and people management. Over that time, I’ve interviewed candidates, hired and onboarded new team members, coached developing professionals, and seen firsthand what helps people grow from technically capable graduates into trusted professionals.
EngineerLaunch looks at that transition from both sides.
Start Strong is for engineering students, interns, new grads, and early-career professionals. The focus is practical guidance on interviews, internships, first jobs, workplace expectations, communication, career paths, and professional growth.
Develop Well is for the managers and mentors responsible for helping early-career talent grow. The focus is hiring for potential, onboarding, setting clear expectations, giving useful feedback, coaching, and building capability over time.
The goal is simple: create practical resources for the parts of engineering careers and early-career development that are often learned the hard way.
No generic career advice. No pretending every workplace or manager is the same. Just useful tools, clear guidance, and perspective from someone who has spent years on both sides of the transition.
