Flying, Controlling, Creating — Aviation Apparel with Heart
Hallo, ik ben Samantha, de piloot en controller achter Fly Left Downwind. Luchtvaart staat al jaren centraal in mijn leven en net als veel piloten wilde ik die trots ook buiten de cockpit laten zien.
In 2024, na de aankoop van een Piper J3 Cub, zocht ik naar kleding die authentiek aanvoelde – iets gepersonaliseerds met staartnummers en luchthavens. Toen ik dat niet kon vinden, besloot ik het zelf te maken. Zo ontstond Fly Left Downwind.
Tegenwoordig combineer ik mijn luchtvaartachtergrond met een groeiende passie voor design om gepersonaliseerde kleding te creëren voor piloten, verkeersleiders en luchtvaartliefhebbers. Elk shirt is ontworpen met als doel de plekken waar we vliegen, de vliegtuigen waar we van houden en de gemeenschap die we delen te vieren.

Hi, I’m Samantha, the pilot and controller behind Fly Left Downwind. Aviation has been at the center of my life for years, and like many pilots, I wanted a way to show that pride beyond the cockpit.
In 2024, after buying a Piper J3 Cub, I searched for apparel that felt authentic — something personalized with tail numbers and airports. When I couldn’t find it, I decided to create it myself. That’s how Fly Left Downwind was born.
Today, I bring my aviation background together with a growing passion for design to create personalized apparel for pilots, controllers, and aviation enthusiasts. Every shirt is created with the goal of celebrating the places we fly, the airplanes we love, and the community we share.
