Privacy Policy – Little Button Books
This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through Etsy.com or its related sites and services.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third-party services you access through Etsy. You can read the Etsy Privacy Policy to learn more about its privacy practices.
Information I collect
to complete your order, Etsy provides me with certain information, such as your name, email address, billing country or address, and the details of the items you have purchased. As my items are digital downloads, I do not need or use a delivery address. If you contact me directly, you may also choose to give me further information, for example in a message.
Why I need your information and how I use it
I rely on the following legal bases to collect, use and share your information:
* To provide my services: to process your order, give you access to your files, provide customer support and settle any disputes.
* To comply with legal obligations: for example, keeping records of sales for tax purposes as required by HMRC.
* For my legitimate interests: to provide and improve my services, and to comply with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
I do not send marketing emails, and I do not sell your information to anyone.
Information sharing and disclosure
I share your personal information only in limited circumstances:
* Etsy: as necessary to provide my services and comply with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
* Business transfers: if I sell or merge my business, your information may be disclosed as part of that transaction, only as permitted by law.
* Compliance with laws: where I believe it is reasonably necessary to respond to legal processes or government requests, enforce my terms and policies, prevent fraud or illegal activity, or protect the rights and safety of my customers or others.
Data retention
I keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide my services and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. I generally keep sales records for up to 6 years, as required for UK tax purposes.
Transfers of personal information
Your information is handled through Etsy's systems, which may store and process it in other countries, including the United States. Please see Etsy's Privacy Policy for details of how Etsy protects your information. I do not use any other services to store your information.
Your rights
If you live in the UK, the EU or certain other territories, you have rights in relation to your personal information, including:
* Access: you can ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you.
* Change, restrict or delete: you can ask me to correct, limit my use of, or delete your information. Unless I am required to keep it for legal reasons, such as tax records, I will generally delete it on request.
* Object: you can object to my use of your information based on my legitimate interests.
* Complain: if you are unhappy with how I use your information, you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK, or your local data protection authority.
How to contact me
. For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law, I, Little Button Books, am the controller of your personal information. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me through Etsy messages.
