In row 11 I would suggest NOT working in the back loop or you get this line around the crown that does not make it look like the pattern. I do not like the way it looks with that row. I would suggest just doing another row of half double crochet so it doesn't look like a rim around your head.

The back-loop-only round in Row 11 is intentionally included to create a defined transition between the crown and the sides of the hat. However, I completely understand that this look may not be everyone's preference. Your suggestion of working another round of half double crochet instead is a great alternative for crocheters who prefer a smoother finish. Thank you again for your helpful feedback. On my original review I failed to mention my inexperience which leaves the seller not look too hot and I apoligize for that. She contacted me to make good. She's a good business person and I will definitely buy from her again.
