Inspiration can be found in the little things in life.
I started Mixed Plate around seven years ago while I was still living in Hawaii. At that time, I was in the early stages of moving from selling my jewelry on consignment at local shops to creating my very own website for my line. I quickly realized how many small business folks were out there trying to sell their wares on a budget. Advertising dollars are scarce when you are an independent business owner. I wanted to show my love and support of artists and designers of handmade goods. And that is how Mixed Plate was born.
Over the years I have been fortunate enough to have met both online and in person some of my favorite creative people. And I am constantly being inspired by them along with the simple things I encounter each day.
I am proud of being able to show a sincere excitement and joy in featuring others and their work through Mixed Plate. Because of my blog, I am able to introduce great finds to the world.
I decided to expand on some of the happiness I find in the little things in life and create the items in this shop. It's just one of the many projects I'm working on for Mixed Plate that I hope you'll enjoy.
