Benvenuti a Rustic Country Handcrafts

Nato e cresciuto nel New England, ho iniziato Rustic Country Handcrafts diversi anni fa quando ho deciso di iniziare a vendere le mie creazioni fatte a mano pubblicamente a fiere dell'artigianato e mostre casalinghe.

Da bambino, ho imparato la maggior parte delle mie abilità di base da mia madre e mia nonna. La mamma mi ha insegnato come creare i miei vestiti per la scuola, mentre Grammy mi ha insegnato a lavorare a maglia e all'uncinetto. Ho sempre ammirato i talenti più primitivi di mia nonna, tra cui l'aggancio del tappeto, la punzonatura del tappeto e la treccia. Grammy ha anche realizzato bellissime trapunte patchwork a mano. Ne ricordo ancora un paio della mia infanzia.

Con una conoscenza delle competenze di base, ho imparato ad andare oltre le basi impreziosendo il mio lavoro con ricami, bottoni, stratificazioni, nastri e tessuti vintage. Non passò molto tempo prima che iniziassi a creare le mie creazioni che provenivano dall'ispirazione interiore, che definisco calorosamente un "dono". Adoro progettare le idee che mi girano per la testa, farne una o due, poi passare alla mia prossima grande idea. Non vedo l'ora che arrivi il prossimo progetto, il prossimo e il prossimo! Non c'è modo di fermarmi. Non passò molto tempo prima che le persone comprassero oggetti da me e mi chiedessero quale modello avessi usato per realizzarlo. Molte, molte volte ho dovuto spiegare che non ho usato un modello. Dopo numerose richieste di modelli per le mie creazioni, ho deciso che era giunto il momento di iniziare a produrli per venderli al pubblico.

Dopo molti mesi di pianificazione, creazione, produzione e costruzione di un sito web, avvio di un blog e apertura di uno shoppe Etsy, eccomi qui! Ho avuto così tanto aiuto da familiari e amici attraverso questo lungo processo, compresi amici speciali che si sono offerti di testare i modelli prima che vengano pubblicati. Sono stato benedetto con un meraviglioso sistema di supporto di familiari e amici.

Mentre navighi nel mio negozio Etsy, goditi i modelli e sappi che ognuno è creato in modo univoco da una scintilla all'interno.

Welcome to Rustic Country Handcrafts

Born and raised in New England, I started Rustic Country Handcrafts several years ago when I decided to start selling my handmade creations publically at craft fairs and home shows.

As a child, I learned most of my basic skills from my mother and my grandmother. Mom taught me how to make my own clothes for school, while Grammy taught me how to knit and crochet. I always admired my grandmother's more primitive talents including rug hooking, rug punching and braiding. Grammy also made beautiful hand-pieced patchwork quilts. I can still remember a couple of them from my childhood.

With a knowledge of the basic skills, I learned to go beyond the basics by embellishing my work with embroidery, buttons, layering, ribbons and vintage textiles. It wasn't long before I started making my own creations that came from inspiration within, that I warmly refer to as a "gift". I love to design the ideas that are swimming around in my head, make one or two of them, then move on to my next great idea. I always look forward to that next project, and the next, and next! There's no stopping me. It wasn't long before people would buy items from me and ask what pattern I used to make it. Many, many times I had to explain that I did not use a pattern. After numerous requests for patterns for my creations, I decided it was time to begin producing them to sell to the public.

After many months of planning, creating, producing and building a website, starting a blog, and opening an Etsy shoppe, here I am! I had so much help from family and friends through this long process, including special friends who have offered to test the patterns before they are published. I have been blessed with a wonderful support system of family and friends.
