Simka Sol es la hija artística de la diseñadora gráfica Sara (Simcha) Charles.
Sara sintetizó el diseño de patrones de superficies, la serigrafía y la moda en una ferviente línea de ropa, arte y decoración del hogar que exhibe sus distintivos estampados y obras de arte. Su estilo gráfico audaz y sus diseños terrenales aunque ocasionalmente macabros son fácilmente reconocibles y tremendamente buscados.
Graduada de la Facultad de Arte y Diseño de Massachusetts (2007), ha hecho crecer su negocio cuidadosamente durante los últimos 14 años. Es un honor ser una vendedora destacada de Etsy y un artículo destacado de Etsy Quit Your Day Job, sus trabajos se han publicado en numerosas publicaciones como Magnolia Journal Magazine, Apartment Therapy, Business Insider y ha tenido la emoción de vender su arte para exhibirlo en dos importantes Conjuntos de comedia ABC.
• Fabricación responsable
Desde que aprendí a serigrafiar, modifiqué el proceso y lo hice mío exponiendo mis pantallas al sol durante el día, lo que elimina la necesidad de unidades de exposición a los rayos UV y electricidad. Este proceso que depende tanto del medio ambiente me ha ayudado a reducir la velocidad en un mundo del "ahora" que avanza rápidamente, respirar profundamente y apreciar lo que la naturaleza nos brinda como herramientas naturales.
También imprimo utilizando únicamente tintas ecológicas a base de agua, que NO contienen COV, PVC ni ninguna otra sustancia tóxica nociva, lo que las hace seguras para el medio ambiente y para el usuario. ¡Estamos analizando opciones solares para 2015!
Me complace anunciar que ofrezco telas fresadas en EE. UU., así como mezclas orgánicas importadas certificadas, cosechadas y fabricadas bajo estrictas pautas ambientales y de producción mundial de prendas de vestir responsables. Nuestras ofertas orgánicas están totalmente certificadas por IMO, Control Union, OCIA, NOP o Ecocer y teñidas con tintes reactivos a la fibra de bajo impacto. Las mezclas orgánicas importadas se fabrican en fábricas donde los trabajadores operan en un ambiente bien mantenido, saludable y seguro; están bien capacitados para sus trabajos; son tratados con respeto; reciben una remuneración justa y cuentan con seguro médico y prestaciones de licencia por enfermedad y maternidad. No se utiliza trabajo infantil.
La mayoría de nuestras telas se fabrican en los EE. UU. y se indican en las páginas de productos. Pedimos nuestra tela en grandes cantidades para reducir nuestra huella de envío y para ofrecer un producto continuo y consistente.
Todas nuestras prendas hechas a mano están cosidas a 10 pies de donde se imprimen a mano en mi estudio.
Cada artículo de la tienda está hecho a mano en el estudio de mi casa, desde la idea inicial hasta el producto terminado. El proceso de cada artículo lo realizo mis manos y cada producto es especial y único.

Simka Sol is the art child of graphic designer Sara (Simcha) Charles.
Sara synthesized surface pattern design, screen printing and fashion into a fervid line of clothing, art and home decor that exhibits her distinctive prints and artworks. Her bold graphic style and earthly yet occasionally macabre designs are easily recognizable and wildly sought-after.
A graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design ('07), She has thoughtfully grown her business over the past 14 years. Honored to be an Etsy Featured Seller and an Etsy Quit Your Day Job article spotlight, her works have been published in numerous publications such as Magnolia Journal Magazine, Apartment Therapy, Business Insider and has had the thrill of selling her art for display on two major ABC sitcom sets.
• Responsible Manufacturing
Since learning how to screen print I've modified the process and made it my own by exposing my screens in the daytime sun, which eliminates the need for uv exposure units and electricity. This process which is so dependent on the environment has helped me slow down in a fast paced "now" world, take a deep breath and appreciate what nature gives us as natural tools.
I also print using only eco-friendly water based inks, which contain NO harmful VOC's, PVC or any other harmful toxic substances, making them safe for environment as well as the user. We are looking into solar options for 2015!
I am excited to announce that I offer USA milled fabrics as well as certified imported organic blends, harvested and manufactured under strict environmental and Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production guidelines. Our organic offerings are fully certified by IMO, Control Union, OCIA, NOP or Ecocer and and dyed with low impact, fiber reactive dyes. Imported organic blends are manufactured in mills where workers operate in a well maintained, healthy and safe environment; they are well trained for their jobs; they are treated with respect; they are paid fairly and are provided with health insurance, sick and maternity leave benefit. No child labor is used.
Majority of our fabrics are milled in the USA and are noted as to which on product pages. We order our fabric in large quantities to reduce our shipping footprint and in order to offer a continual and consistent product.
All of our handmade garments are sewn 10 feet from where they are hand printed in my studio.
Every item in the shop is handmade in my home studio, from the initial idea, to the finished product. Each item's process is completed by my hands and each product is special and unique.
