Ciao, benvenuto a Stare Off Studio. Se hai mai avuto la sensazione che alla tua arte mancasse un'anima (o almeno uno sguardo molto critico), sei nel posto giusto. Sono Corvus e creo bulbi oculari.
Sono sempre stato il tipo che trova le "cose strane" fantastiche. Mentre tutti gli altri collezionavano francobolli o pietre normali, io ero affascinato dall'inquietante, da quella roba che si trova proprio al limite del "aspetta, ma è vera?". Tutto è iniziato qualche anno fa, quando stavo lavorando a un progetto personale di oggetti di scena e mi sono reso conto che la maggior parte degli occhi artigianali sembravano dei bottoni di plastica piatti. Nessuna profondità, nessuna vita, nessuna scintilla. (no, grazie!)
Ho passato mesi nel mio laboratorio (ok, è una scrivania con fin troppi flaconi e barattoli) ossessionandomi sulla trasparenza della resina e sulla stratificazione dei pigmenti. Volevo creare un occhio che non si limitasse a fissarmi, ma che mi guardasse davvero. Ogni pezzo che vedete qui è stato colato, dipinto e lucidato a mano da me. Hanno quella finitura lucida effetto bagnato perché, onestamente, se non sembra che abbia bisogno di un battito di ciglia, non ho fatto il mio lavoro.

I’ve always been the guy who finds the "weird stuff" cool. While everyone else was collecting stamps or normal rocks, I was fascinated by the uncanny-- the stuff that sits right on the edge of "wait, is that real?" It started a few years back when I was working on a personal prop project and realized most craft eyes looked like flat, plastic buttons. No depth, no life, no spark. (no thank you!)
I spent months in my lab (okay, it’s a desk with way too many bottles & jars) obsessing over resin clarity and pigment layering.
