Als Künstlerin habe ich begonnen, Natur- und Fossilienmotive in meine Arbeiten einzubinden. Außerdem habe ich zum ersten Mal mit digitaler Kunst und digitalem Design angefangen. Das ist ein ganz neues Abenteuer für eine Künstlerin, die bisher mit traditionellen Medien gearbeitet hat. Es ist so aufregend, meine Designs auf Produkten wie Stoffen und sogar auf meiner Kaffeetasse zu sehen!
Ich unterrichte seit 26 Jahren an einer Schule in Texas. Nachdem ich angefangen hatte, digital Kunst zu gestalten, wurde mir klar, dass ich diese neue Fähigkeit im Bildungsbereich einsetzen konnte. Ich habe begonnen, Unterrichtsmaterialien zu erstellen, die größtenteils den typischen texanischen Stil widerspiegeln. Mein aktuelles Großprojekt ist ein Mal- und Aktivitätsbuch über texanische Fossilien für Kinder. Ich freue mich schon sehr darauf, es euch vorzustellen!
As an artist, I have begun to incorporate nature and fossil themes in my work. I have also started to create digital art and design for the first time. This is a new adventure for an artist used to traditional media. It is so exciting to see my designs on products like fabric and even on my coffee mug!
I have been a Texas classroom teacher for 26 years. After beginning to design art digitally, I realized that I could take that new skill into the world of education. I have begun to create educational resources, much of which continues that natural Texas vibe. My current “big” project is a Texas fossil coloring and activity book for kids. I can’t wait to share it with you!
