Inspired by nature...

Hi, my name is Marianne Laenen. I'm a small scale potter. I'm the proud mum of two grown up daughters and the "yaya" of two beautiful granddaughters.
I'm lucky being able to live in the lovely wooded countryside north of Antwerp together with my husband and our animals: two dogs, a cat and 3 horses.
Nature is my inspiration. I can express my creativity in working with clay and porcelain, making bells, leaves, flowers, feathers and fish which results in windchimes, wall hangings, window and garden decoration.
Each article is handmade and unique, truly one-of-a-kind.
For 15 years, I was a teacher in a school for visual impaired adults. We had a beautiful clay studio and gradually I fell in love with ceramics. What started as a hobby became a passion.
Sometimes I have a "white period", working with porcelain, white clay, transparent and white glazes. Sometimes I'm attracted by black clay and dark glazes. And I have my colourful work: flowers, bells, fish in bright colours. I love it all!
