Doing It Local
I've been making jewelry, crafting, drawing, and painting since the age of 11. I am a returned Peace Corps Volunteer, having served 2 years teaching English in rural Indonesia, and it was there that I learned the value of community, handmade products, and small business. While I was abroad, I came to believe in the power of gemstones to center, calm, empower, and balance us, and, if nothing else, to give us the confidence to express our true selves through our jewelry. I'm always being inspired by nature's artistry and am always looking for different ways to explore and enhance the power of crystals and stones.
Currently, bead the system is a one woman operation. It is 100% my blood-sweat-and-tears labor of love. Every piece is designed and created by yours truly. I am committed to finding quality items locally to construct my pieces. I'm currently living in Austin, TX which offers many unique choices in terms of the variety of beautiful rocks and minerals (many of which are native and unique to Texas soil), and a vibrant community of jewelers and bead sellers who are just as enthusiastic as I am. Some findings (ear hooks, ear posts, jump rings, and occasionally chain) I purchase wholesale or online from other Etsy vendors, but 99% of my pendants, gemstones, crystals, and beads are purchased locally.
You can trust that each purchase from beadtheSystem supports small local business here in Austin. Please contact me directly for any custom orders or other inquiries.
