5 out of 5 starsThis is not a course in making dolls - this is about connecting with the natural elements and connecting with yourself. You can dive as deep as you want to. At first I just thought I would learn a bit more about the elements and make a nice doll in the process, but unexpectedly and thankfully, I got so much more than that! I am grateful for the wisdom Sophia shared about connecting with nature around us. When I let go of expectations of actually making something, things started to flow and shift inside me. Truly grateful for this.

To follow your heart
With a background in classic upholstery and (interior) styling Sophia developed a profound love for vintage fabrics. During her study she worked for an organic farm in the North of Holland. It was there, working the land that she developed a great respect and true connection with mother earth.
Ever since she was a little girl she made dolls and dollhouses from carton boxes, dried flowers, sticks and shells found on the long beach walks they used to make with the family.
Just after her second child was born Sophia started to make dolls. Along the way she started to develop a more sustainable and zero waste way of working.
Nowadays she only works with vintage and eco friendly fabrics. She dyes most of her fabrics by herself with natural dyes from plants, flowers and herbs.
The wool that is used comes from Texel (one of the Dutch islands) and is a 100% eco .
Sophia's work is always in progress. She hopes it always resonates love and a great respect to mother earth.
