about Mieke
Mieke de Been designs and makes jewellery in her own atelier, located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. All of her work is handcrafted and exclusively available in limited quantities.
Next to her work as a graphic designer Mieke studied to become a goldsmith in Schoonhoven, the Netherlands. Early 2014 she decided to start selling her work under her own brand.
Mieke is inspired by the application of a diversity of handicraft techniques, textures and simplicity of shapes. In her work, she values product quality and the practicality of wearing jewellery. All of her pieces are certified by WaarborgHolland and receive a registered trademark stamp.

Silver can become dull or turn black over time. To prevent this from happening, you can polish your silver piece with a silver polishing cloth. Oxidised silver can lose some of its initial darkness over time and change colour slightly. Frequent contact with other materials and wear can contribute to this effect.
For the best preservation of your silver jewellery, try to avoid exposing silver to cosmetics or other chemicals. Avoid wearing your silver jewellery when swimming, bathing, showering or when using a sauna. Take off jewellery when there is the risk of injuring yourself or others around you with it (sports).
