Say goodbye to coffee bean retention and stale grounds in your Breville / Sage Smart Grinder Pro with the FusedLine Zero Retention Single Dose Hopper with Silicone Bellows and Anti-Popcorning Weight.
The single dose hopper includes a highly durable silicone bellows to fully purge your grinder of nearly all retention, at an affordable price. The silicone bellows is superior to 3D printed versions as it can take tens of thousands of pumps without breaking or cracking. The 3D printed versions are made from TPU plastic – this material is hygroscopic, meaning that it will slowly absorb moisture from its surroundings, degrading over time.
The single dose hopper seamlessly integrates with your Breville / Sage Smart Grinder Pro using an engineered locking ring to secure the hopper in place. A rubber O-ring ensures an air-tight seal for optimized purging of your grinder. The hopper is sized to easily accept 22+ gram doses, with a max capacity around 45-50 grams.
Take your espresso to the next level and add-on the anti-popcorning weight. The weight simulates a full hopper of beans forcing the beans into the grinder burrs. This prevents "popcorning" and significantly enhances grind consistency and quality throughout the entire grind, down to the last bean. The anti-popcorning weight features integrated air channels to accelerate your workflow. There is no need to remove the weight once all beans are ground – simply leave it in the hopper, pump the bellows to purge the grinder, and enjoy your freshest cup yet. This feature sets the FusedLine Single Dose Hopper apart from the pack, you won't find it anywhere else!
By selections the following options, you will receive:
Hopper+Bellow+Weight: This is the full kit and includes everything shown in the images above (besides the espresso machine/scale), including the orange ring.
Hopper+Bellow: This includes everything except for the anti-popcorning weight.
Bellows Only: This ONLY includes the silicone bellows that sits on top of the hopper.
To install the Single Dose Hopper onto your machine:
1. Remove the original hopper from your machine and clean all old beans and grounds from the grinder. A vacuum cleaner works best. It is essential that the grinder inlet is free from all beans and grounds to ensure a secure fit. Note: Do not use water to clean the grinder as this can rust your grinder burrs.
2. Insert the orange locking ring by aligning the tabs with the slots in your grinder inlet. Ensure that the hopper (black or silver part) is not connected to the orange locking ring at this time. Push the locking ring down firmly to ensure it is fully inserted.
3. Insert the hopper (black or silver part) into the orange locking ring by aligning the tabs with the slots in the locking ring. Press down to ensure the hopper is fully inserted. Next, twist the hopper clockwise until you feel a click and the hopper will not twist any further. Note that this may require some force as the locking mechanism and O-ring seal. Applying an upward force (pull the hopper up) while twisting should make it easier. It is important to ensure the hopper is correctly installed to engage the safety pin that allows the grinder to operate. If you have any issues with this step, please reach out to us via Etsy messages.
To use the Single Dose Hopper:
1. Measure out your dose and dump the beans into the hopper. Tip: the silicone bellows works great to measure and transfer your beans!
2. If you purchased the anti-popcorning weight, place it on top of the beans.
3. Set the silicone bellows on top of the hopper.
4. Press the grinder trigger to begin grinding.
5. Once all the beans are ground, give the silicone bellows a few gentle pumps to purge your grinder. Note that this works best while the grinder is spinning; restart the grinder if it has stopped. You can also adjust the grind time to ensure all beans are ground and there is extra time to purge the grinder. Also, there is no need to remove the anti-popcorning weight for this step.
6. Enjoy your freshest cup yet!
The Single Dose Hopper sits 2.25" (57mm) above the top of the grinder. This is lower than the stock hopper that comes with the grinder.
