Trying to depict that raw coastal nature
Hi!
My name is Kim Goksøyr Strande. A Norwegian man born i Ålesund, but now living in Levanger.
In an attempt to find a hobby to spend time on, I started painting in the summer of 2015. I hadn’t done a single painting since kindergarten, but was instantly hooked.
My first years was spent doing oil paintings, before expanding to acrylics, watercolours and digital programs as well.
Growing up in Ålesund, the coastal nature has always fascinated me. I want to depict that nature, and convey the feeling of raw power when connected to it.
Placid is described as "serenely free of interruption or disturbance", which is exactly how I feel when I pick up my pens and brushes. A place to get totally engrossed.
I hope some of that serenity is transfered into my paintings, to give everyone who's watching a taste of salt water.
