Mein Name ist Erik und ich habe Rust Up Buttercup gegründet, um meine Kunst online über meinen YouTube-Kanal und natürlich Etsy zu präsentieren. Meine Leidenschaft gilt der Metallkunst. Ich liebe es, Metall zu formen und zu schweißen. Es ist faszinierend, wie man zwei Metallstücke verschweißen kann und innerhalb weniger Minuten etwas so Starkes und Solides entsteht, das fast allem standhält. Ebenso faszinierend ist, dass der Rost beim Verrotten eine ganz eigene Form annimmt, die man niemals nachbilden kann, egal wie sehr man es versucht. Es ist, als ob die Kunst ihren eigenen Fingerabdruck erhält.

Ich habe nicht immer mit Metall gearbeitet, ich male auch sehr gerne. Am liebsten arbeite ich mit Acrylfarben auf Leinwand, ab und zu auch mit der Airbrush. Malen und Kunst haben mich schon immer begeistert, und nach dem Schulabschluss habe ich mich für ein Studium am Art Institute of Washington in Seattle entschieden, wo ich einen Abschluss in Industriedesign erworben habe. Heute schaffe ich Kunst durch meine Metallarbeiten und lasse, wann immer möglich, auch malen.

My name is Erik and I started Rust Up Buttercup as a way to showcase my art online through my YouTube channel and of coarse Etsy. My main focus and my passion is my metal art. I love forming metal and I love welding. Its amazing how you can weld two pieces of metal, and in a mater of minutes you have something so strong and solid that will hold up to almost anything. Its also amazing that when you start to rust the piece of metal the rust takes its own form, and you can never duplicate it no mater how hard you try. Its like the art takes on it's own fingerprint.

I have not always done metal, I love to paint as well. My median is acrylic on canvas with a side of airbrushing. I loved painting and art and after graduating high school I decided to attend the Art Institute of Washington Seattle where I earned a degree in Industrial Design. Now I create art through my metal art and still throw some painting it the mix when I can.
