Moving over 10,000 miles I left a lot behind in the UK, friends, family and an ever increasing collection of beads. Whilst unpacking the 28kg suitcase that I'd carried through Asia, I realised that all the pieces I'd packed were made from metal. (Don't despair the rest of the beads were mailed one bag at a time by my ever patient Mum).

So to fill the time between bead mailings and find some fellow crafters I enrolled in a silversmithing course. The freedom to create any shape and design completed shifted my jewellery making perspectives and it was love at first sight. Luckily, my future grandma-in-law had also been a successful silversmith and my future parents-in-law gifted me her tools, vintage silver supplies and half finished pieces.

Since then Wryght Designs has evolved to include natural gemstones, silver, copper, brass and bronze designs. Slowly I'm also working towards a zero-waste and chemical free target. Jewellery should be a joy that has minimal impact on the environment and jewellery boxes should be filled with pieces that speak to our hearts, pieces we wear with every outfit for every occasion.

Speaking of one day...one day recently we left behind the beauty of the harbour city for a space of my own for chickens and a huge veggie patch with plenty of time for hiding in my studio.
