Meet Ellen Sr. - a true pioneer woman.

Ellen, her husband Alexander, and two-year-old William left Greenock, Scotland on May 1, 1861 and arrived in Port Chalmers, Dunedin 84 days later.

She had 6 children: William, Jessie, Robert, Katie, Alexander and Marion. Ellen was a very dour Scotswoman with 2 burrs in her tongue and her grandchildren couldn’t understand her speech.

She has a lamp on her pocket as she lit the way for the future of the Love women in NZ.

Colonial Characters - The Love Wives and Daughters Collection represents some of the tireless heroines missing from the history books. These women are part of the fabric of New Zealand history. Each keepsake is handmade with cotton fabrics and filled with pure NZ wool and a touch of fragrant dried lavender. Made in NZ by a Love wife.

All dolls are approximately 22g and measure 10cm x 7cm x 2cm.
