About the book:
Michelle is at the crossroads of her life—stuck in a 9-5 job going nowhere fast she suddenly decides to quit, handing in her lanyard I.D to live out her dream of walking from Cape Reinga to Bluff on Te Araroa. With her ever supportive partner Jack, the couple set off rapturous with newly found freedom and dreams of living their best lives. But less than a week into their journey they are faced with the true reality of what it means to walk the length of the country. Emerging from the wild Northland Forests with blistered feet and wounded egos Michelle and Jack persevere—united with fellow walkers and kind strangers who encourage them to keep going, to try their luck at making it all the way to Bluff.

What a story! As real as it gets. I laughed and I cringed for you in equal measure. Thanks for sharing with us all. You should feel VERY proud. 😊
Michelle's writing makes you feel like you're on the trail yourself. You can feel the happiness, tears, wind, rain and stepping in the mud. Amazing trail, great people and a beautiful story!
I really enjoyed this book, the author has a really nice and lyrical writing style and was not afraid to discuss the tough times on the trail honestly but also showing some of the amazing experiences. Her solid partnership with Jack centred the book (for me) along with her authentic story telling. I hope to read more from this author because I think she has a real talent :)
Meeting Papa was a beautiful read. I found Michelle to be a really captivating writer and despite the way the trail was depicted as tough in many stages, I still felt the yearning to be on the trail. I will be recommending this book to others.
