This listing is for a digital download PDF Project Pattern so you can weave a set of soft and beautiful cotton washcloths. (Please note you won't receive the actual physical washcloths)

I like using these as facecloths or spa/bath cloths. I also gift them to friends/family with a pretty bar of natural handmade soap. Others use them as practical washing-up cloths in the kitchen. I also know of a youngster who loves it as a mini comfort 'blankie'.

It makes me happy to know they are handmade with love I especially enjoy weaving with these fun colour combinations and soft natural fibres.

This pattern is suitable for beginners but you should already be familiar with how to set up a warp and how to weave on your own loom.

Please check carefully that you have all the following items to complete this project:

- A Rigid Heddle Loom with a 12.5 dpi heddle. The width of the loom should be able to accommodate at least a 10" width warp.
A 10epi heddle may be suitable but the washcloths will be more open/lightweight and you will need less warp threads. A 9" wide loom will be OK too if you don't mind slightly smaller cloths.

- Warp yarns - 4 Ply/Fingering weight Cotton in various colours. I like to use Drops Safran which is a cotton knitting yarn. Further details in the pattern. If you need to use a substitute, read your yarn lable to ensure there are between 140-170 meters of 100% cotton yarn per 50g ball (or 150-185yds per 2oz skein)

- Weft Yarns: Same as warp plus any other cotton/linen yarns you may have around that you want to experiment with.
You will also need a small amount of a much finer/thinner cotton weft for the hems. I used Scheppes Sweet Treats which is a 2 ply/Lace weight crochet cotton.

- Warp Peg (or sturdy chair) for stretching out the warp.
- Threading hook
- Scissors
- 2 Clamps
- Tape measure.
- Warp sticks/paper
- Shuttle(s) Stick or Boat - preferably 2 or more.
- Yarn bobbins and winder (if you use boat shuttles)
- A 3.5mm (E-4) Crochet hook if you want to make tabs to hang the washcloths up.
- Sewing Machine for the hems (an overlocker/serger is useful too but not essential)

The PDF document is 12 pages long and includes instructions and lots of colour photos. You may wish to print it out at home (to save paper, print double sided in 6 sheets A4 paper and press ‘fit to page’ so it all fits within the margins.)

I'm always happy to help with weaving questions or to advise with yarn choices. Yarns and looms are available online all over the world. Better still...why not ‘support small & love local’ by asking at your nearby yarn store. Just message or email me once you've downloaded the pattern if you need advice.

Fascinating use of colors for these wash cloths. Designer has great directions to help the weaver choose colors. Quick response time for questions.
