Did you know there’s an architectural feature in old German barns called an Eulenloch, meaning owl hole, to let barn owls in so they’ll protect the contents of the barn from rodents? And these owl holes are often heart shaped for the little barn owls’ heart shaped faces!

This listing is for a small glass barn owl figurine, choose at checkout whether you’d like an adult owl or a tiny little owlet.

Adult owls are just under 2” tall and 3/4” wide. Owlets are 1” tall and 3/8” wide.

I sculpt each owl entirely by hand (mostly using a butter knife that belonged to my grandmother).

Each owl is made from borosilicate glass using a process called flameworking in which rods of clear and colored glass are heated and formed with a very hot (approximately 5000 degrees Fahrenheit) flame. Because this is a handmade item there will be some variations in shape, color, size, etc. (I’m not a robot!) but I try my best to make them match the photos in the listing as closely as possible.
