Hi! I'm Megan Winn, owner and artist behind the Binding Bee brand. I started Binding Bee as a way to share my love of handmade books + journaling with the world.
Each of the journals is hand-crafted by me in Indianapolis, Indiana where I live with my husband and kids.
Binding Bee journals are heirloom quality and meant to last a life-time and then some. I use carefully sourced materials to make each journal as eco-friendly as possible.
The leather I use in my journals is reclaimed remnant leather, also known as ‘job lots.' I source these from US or European tanneries where the environmental worker rights are stricter and to a higher standard.
Binding Bee's paper handmade paper is tree-free and created using an old-world traditional paper making method of using cotton scraps. The paper is sourced from a small company in India. We have partnered with them for over 9 years and love the quality of the paper they create.
The binding method I use most often is known as the Long Stitch Method. It is a very sturdy type of binding and allows the pages of the books to lay flat when in use. This is very important for both writing and sketching.
Thank you again for visiting my shop and supporting my small business! If you have additional questions, don't hesitate to get in touch!
