I'm a picture book illustrator working and living in Milan, Italy. While creating picture books I also create letter writing sets, note cards and textiles in my room. I've wanted to call my little studio place Aterlier Merlotto. Merlo means Black bird in Italian and Merlotto is like a young (little) Black bird. Black birds frequent my balcony and give me so much love and inspirations. Please look forward to see more and more creations here at my new start as Atelier Merlotto.

Charming, lovely little woodland creatures and flowers on the stationery. They're different and fun, not the typical mass-market cards. Images on one side and a lined page with some more animals and flora and fauna around the edges on the other side. Brown envelopes and stickers. They make me smile and look forward to writing messages on them.

Hello, I 'm an illustrator, I draw everyday and I love so much animals, flowers, trees, seashells, and the smell of them, and journeys. I'd travel every part of the world if I had the possibility. I live in Milan, in the north of Italy. I came to Italy from Japan to study fine art in the painting department of the Art school in this country full of artistic beauties, many years ago. Drawing is my passion since I was very little, and I finally found out that I want to do it as a job, because last year one day I had a clear imagination of my painting in watercolour on a letter paper. I'd love that my painting lives inside the everyday life of someone, with as much beauty as possible, so I decided to take part as a shop on Etsy, founding Abstractales as the brand of my idea. My paintings come from natural motifs, animals, and different landscapes that is my visual memories and experiences. The idea to give life to my paintings will continue to born and wants to expand...
