The shop owner used photos of my late father's 56 Chevy to identify the model and custom matched the color of the vehicle. Being in the States and the shop in New Zealand and ordering during a world pandemic did result in a lengthy delivery process but I'd do it all over again for this lovely piece to honor my dad. Thank you!

Beware the ice cream
I took this photo on my phone a few years ago. We had been on a road trip and stopped in some small town for an ice cream. It was a hot afternoon, there was nobody around so we found a spot under a tree opposite the local hotel and enjoyed the silence. I lay on the grass contemplating my lovely car, it was somehow different viewed from the side. It became two dimensional, I liked how it flattened off against the building behind. The only hint of any depth was suggested by the hard shadows created by the hard mid-afternoon sun. Little did I know this idle moment would lead to scores of illustrations based on that simple thought. It's a hazardous business stopping for an ice cream on a hot Sunday afternoon.
