About

Silvercap's Waldorf Dolls Have Arrived.

Silvercap came into being when I discovered a passion for doll making. As a Waldorf handwork teacher I teach doll making to class 7. The quality of Silvercap dolls only improved over time with practice.

The name Silvercap is inspired by a fairy tail in which a fairy prince named Silvercap notices how sad the children are when summer dies and winter arrives. Silvercap and the frost fairies transform the land into a winter wonderland and bring joy to the children who are able to find an inner warmth that endures until spring.

The child's world is fast being filled with TV, video games and plastic. The aesthetic experience that comes from handcrafted toys made with natural materials is priceless. Silvercap dolls are created with Rudolf Steiner's view of the human being in mind. They aim to enhance the child's developing sense that the world is beautiful.

I hope you enjoy living with them as much as I enjoyed creating them.

FAQs

-Custom Orders: Yes Please! Some of my best new ideas and products have come from collaborating with customers. Please let me know what it is you are looking for and if I can make it for you I will!

-Wholesale: I will definitely consider it. Please note that I am but one person and don't have anyone working for me. I would be happy to talk further if you want some dolls in your super cool store.

Each doll is handmade and can be made to order. Just like humans and all other living beings, this means no two will ever be exactly alike. The faces always vary and although I make them using the same method each time the dolls unique personality will always be visible. Fabrics will vary depending on their availability from my supplier.

-Safety: Dolls with buttons and beads are NOT recommended for children under the age of three. Please let me know if you are purchasing a custom made 13inch or 16inch doll for a child younger than three so I can avoid using objects which pose a choking risk.
If purchasing a Zodiac kid for a child younger than three please remove the pouch and birthstone from the doll before giving it to the child.

-Cleaning: Spot cleaning is recommended.
