Roots of Pearl
Als klein meisje droomde ik er altijd van om modeontwerpster te worden. In 2008 stortte ik me, direct na mijn afstuderen, in de mode-industrie in New York City. Ik was verdwaald en ontmoedigd door alle onethische aspecten van de productie en de grote bedrijven. Dus verliet ik de wolkenkrabbers, verkende ik de extravagante wereld van New York en begon ik samen met een collega een eigen label voor gereconstrueerde vintage mode. Dat was nog vóór de tijd van smartphones! We openden onze eigen pop-upwinkels en verkochten onze producten in Brooklyn en Manhattan.
In 2011 ben ik als eenmanszaak voor mezelf begonnen.
Ik heb door Amerika gereisd, op muziekfestivals en groothandelsmarkten gestaan en mijn 200-urige yogadocentenopleiding afgerond. Eén ding is zeker: mijn "zigeunerreis" heeft me altijd teruggeleid naar het diepe zuiden van de VS. Thuis is waar het hart is.
In 2025 vond ik, diep onder de modder, eindelijk wat ik zocht: mijn "Roots of Pearl". Mijn christelijke missie is om een zorgvuldig samengestelde collectie producten te presenteren, geworteld in authentieke verhalen, eerlijke handel en een doelbewuste passie.
Ik vlecht de Revival-Wraps met de hand en ik betaal ook Amerikaanse mensen die de overstap maken naar handvlechten, zoals vrouwen in opvanghuizen voor slachtoffers van huiselijk geweld. Ik besteed de drukwerkzaamheden en de materialen uit aan Amerikaanse bedrijven met hoge ethische normen.

When I was a little girl, I always dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. In 2008, I dove straight into the fashion industry, right out of college, in New York City. I was lost and disheartened to learn about all of the unethical corners of the production and corporations. So, I left the high-rise towers, explored New York City's extravaganza and started a private reconstructed vintage fashion label with a colleague. That was before smart phones! We created our own pop-up shops and retailed throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan.
In 2011, I branched out on my own as a sole proprietor.
I traveled America, vended at music festivals and wholesale markets and I obtained my 200 hour Yoga teacher certification. There's one thing for sure - my "gypsy journey" has always pointed me back to "The Deep South" of The USA. Home sweet home.
In 2025, from underneath the depths of the mud, I finally found what I was looking for: my "Roots of Pearl." My Christ conscious mission is to present a thoughtfully curated collection of goods, rooted in organic stories, fair trade and purposeful passion.
I hand braid the Revival-Wraps and I also compensate American humans in transition to hand braid as well such as women of domestic abuse shelters. I source printing production and items from U.S.A based companies with high ethics and standards.
