Kathryn Reedy's Profile

About

Patinated, hand forged metal jewelry including necklaces and earrings, with a primary focus on bracelets. Designed and fabricated one at a time by the hand of the artist utilizing secondhand brass, copper, silverplate, beads, and leathers abundantly available at thrift stores, flea markets and garage sales.

Kathryn Reedy, the self taught artist behind 3 Hands Working, enjoys the challenge of using pre-purposed materials. Torching and hammering metals discarded by others, including brass beds, platters, knick knacks, candle holders; cutting, knotting and weaving suede clothing into wearable art is her current focus. Kathryn finds the patina process to be an ongoing lesson in both patience and acceptance. She is always looking for new inventive ways to create her designs.
