I love working with fibers, dye, and process; it makes me feel like an alchemist. I love to create functional textiles because I think that when the things you use regularly are beautiful and well crafted, it makes the everyday a little more enjoyable.

I use hand dyeing and resist process to create 5 o'clock crows functional textiles. I strive to produce beautiful, functional, thoughtful textiles and home accessories that you will love to use as much as I do.

I discovered hand dyeing, batik, and shibori processes while I was studying printmaking and everything seemed to click. When my pattern ideas don’t come process itself, most of my inspiration is drawn from the natural world, especially plants and flowers. I don’t want to create a direct representation of the idea, but instead a “re-presentation” of that idea. I work from drawings and photographs to create simple shapes and explore the ways in which I can build layers to create a rich and interesting surface.
