About

Etsy people are my kind of people. I am so delighted to have found this amazing artist oriented online community.

I have always felt like I live life outside the lines of a "normal life style". Not too far off normal but just enough so that I don't get really bored. It has been an interesting and rewarding journey so far.

The end of another year is fast approaching. I attended several agricultural fairs in the fall, visited several local wildlife sanctuaries and one in Creston, BC. I have lots of reference material for my paintings.

I recently won three art contests on minted for one of my pencil sketches and another for a watercolor check it out here - http://www.minted.com/store/corinneaelbers. It was a wonderful feeling to get the YOU HAVE WON email.

2018 will include more hikes in the near by parks, visits to local wildlife sanctuaries and garden tours.

I will continue to look for new and interesting venues to sell my work and reach out to those who are looking for the type of drawings and paintings I do. The internet is a vast market place with awesome potential for artists willing to explore the possibilities.

Artist statement
I have been trained and employed as a graphic artist for more than thirty years and have moonlighted as a watercolor artist for just a long. I love the spontaneity of watercolors and am motivated to paint by the amazing natural surroundings of the Pacific West Coast. My strongest connections are with nature. It is reflected in the colors I use and the subject matter that compels me to pick up a brush and paint.

Biography
I am a Canadian artist, born in beautiful White Rock, BC a town in the Pacific Northwest. I now reside in Burnaby, which is part of Metro Vancouver. I love exploring, drawing, photographing and painting the rugged West Coast. Always having had an interest in visual expression and nature, both of which were encouraged by my father from a very young age, I think about or do something creative every day.

I have extensive formal training in both fine art and commercial art including a diploma in Graphic and Communication Arts.

I love making things and really enjoy drawing and painting.

I have been selling my artwork in galleries and craft stores in the Pacific Northwest since the 1980's.

Favorite Materials
All the materials I use are the highest quality available on the market and of conservation calibre.

I often use Winsor and Newton artist quality watercolors on Arches Cold Press Natural White Watercolor Paper and Canson Printmaking Paper for my graphite pencil sketches.

Winsor and Newton Artists Water Colours are of the highest professional grade, rated AA or A for permanence and will appear the same for generations to come.

Arches watercolor paper is a very popular with professional artists. It is of excellent quality, very durable, 100% cotton fiber content, acid-free, pH-neutral, gelatin-sized, and air-dried.

Canson Printmaking Paper is used by professional artists for drawing, illustrating, printmaking and watercolor. It is of excellent quality, durable, acid-free, pH-neutral.
