I owned and operated Appalachian Gallery and Frame shop in Gatlinburg's 'Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community' from 1988 until 2003 when I close the shop. Business had dropped drastically, and my father was had become very ill in 2002, so I thought it best to close up and make myself 100% available to my Mom and Dad. I have always loved working with colors, and built a good client base with my custom matting and framing.

My newest passion started (as my old business transitioned itself out),when I was introduced to jewelry making. I still got to work with colors, only in a different venue. I spent alot of time in a local bead shop, and started jumping in and helping out customers with color selections, etc. and making suggestions. The owner offered me a job working with him in his shop, and has since made me the manager. People now come in to see me about putting shades together, and I don't mind it one bit!! This was a true blessing for me. I've been making jewelry now for 10 years, and been managing his shop for over 8 years. It is a very exciting market to be in!
