ABOUT ME:
I have been creating since I was old enough to imagine beautiful things. Since I was not born a rich princess, I learned at a young age that I would need to learn to make just about anything that I wanted. So you could say my love of pretties and lack of funds created the self-taught artist that I am today. And although now I'm all grown up, I still enjoy creating for myself and others.

My creative spirit developed over time, and I have to give credit to my parents for never letting me realize that any task was beyond my talent or imagination. I'm sure they cringed inside more than once hearing me say, "I saw this in the store today, and thought I can make that... only better!"

That child-like curiousness about how things are made and my love of learning have been fostered along the way by my many talented friends and family members. That spirit of creativity is something I hope to pass along to my son, who still thinks that mom can make anything :-). I hope that one day he realizes he can too!

My professional training is in children's mental health, but I have a passion for arts and crafts and find solace in creating something tangible. I enjoy the challenge of creating little things that make life better, more beautiful, and more personal. I tend to still see things as what they could be, rather than what they are now; which makes everything treasure worthy. I like to dapple in a variety of mediums and tend to dive into one until I become bored and then play with another for a time. I always tend to have several projects going at once - from sewing to card making. I like to spend my free time with my son being creative and making big messes. I enjoy making treasures with my hands and prefer to create my own designs rather than follow the patterns of others. Each creation is a work of art and no two are ever identical. I'm a bit OCD (those who know me can can get up off the floor and stop laughing now), so everything is created with obsessive attention to detail using a variety of collected supplies and embellishments.

THE DETAILS:
One other thing you should know, I am a MUCH better crafter than photographer, so my pictures hardly ever do justice to my cards. I like to make things very dimensional and my descriptions are very complete. Many of my commissioned cards could be framed as art.

My creations are like my children and I take very good care of them (not that I would wrap my son in bubble wrap!!! ¦-), so you should expect them to arrive very well packaged and in excellent condition. The cards will arrive to you pristine in a cellophane wrapper (which will keep them clean until you are ready to use them). The cellophane wrapped card(s) will be tucked inside a larger envelope with cardboard inside to protect them during shipping. The frames and other larger items will arrive well packaged inside a shipping box. If for some reason something does not arrive in perfect condition, please let me know so that I can try to make it right. HOWEVER, all sales are final, I DO NOT accept any returns.

Shipping and handling covers not only the postage to mail the items to you, but it also covers the packaging materials and my time and gas. I will combine shipping for all purchases paid for at the same time. I currently only accept paypal at this time. All payments are due within 3 days of the end of the sale. If you are a return buyer and would like to make an alternate payment, please contact me directly.

I've included a small sampling of my cards here, but if you don't see exactly what you are looking for, please contact me. I also sell my creations through boutiques along the East Coast, and have a variety of off-season (Christmas in July) items available year round.

I make cards for every occasion and I love to do custom work. I will also personalize cards for you upon request. If you are looking for something special, please feel free to contact me with a request. Nothing is too small. Here are a few examples of custom items I have made for clients:

* Personalized Thomas the Train birthday party invitations
* Romantic anniversary card complete with a poem written by the buyer
* Baby birth announcements
* Save the date wedding announcement cards with removable keepsake bookmarks
* Bridal shower invitations
* Graduation announcement cards in custom school colors

If you are in a time crunch and need a card sent directly to someone else - just let me know. I will be happy to include your personal message (it should be short as it will be handwritten and should fit on the card) and will mail it to the address you provide. Conversation me for more details.

Buy with confidence, I only sell items that I would want to receive and take great pride in my work. Contact me if you have questions about any of the items. I'm happy to provide you any additional information. Check out my feedback here and on Ebay (username acldesignscards).
