It all began as a child, flea market sales to earn allowance. My father was a woodworker by hobby and my mother a full-time paperboard packaging designer. Very interesting, as both of them survived my two brothers and I. I grew up a "tom-boy" having two older brothers that believed crying was only for girls and I thought I had to hang with the crowd. We grew up in the "boonies," in what seemed the middle of nowhere. East Texas town called Kemp in a community called Styx. The nearest little grocery store was at least 20-30 minute drive. I remember my brothers and I were allowed to leave when the sun came up but must be home by the time the sun went down. We rode the bus daily during the school year and as we got older, life became more hectic.

Dad always loves looking at flea markets for treasures. When I was small, I would work with him in his wood shop on a band saw cutting wooden toys. We would then sometimes set up at the flea market and sell our handmade wooden wares.

Both my "Mama" and "Daddy-o" are exceptionally brilliant and creative. The challenges as children were not to make the "A" in class but rather "to do our best, whatever it may be." I attribute my original creativity to them, as they are the ones who foster my ideas no matter my age.

My designs? Sure they aren't for everyone, but nothing is. I feel blessed and called to do this particular type of art work. If you had asked me 20 years ago if I would be working with beads, I would have laughed & told you that you were crazy. I was working with corrugated tin at the time & would have never dreamed of creating items with beads.

I feel fortunate to meet so many wonderful people in my art ventures. From the local art supply stores, the dealers that carry my collection, & the Gallery Nights, I encounter some of the most incredible people. The energy from them is what gives me the desire to continue to create and design different pieces. All of my designs are created with friends and family in mind. When I create a piece, it seems to take on a personality of someone I know. Energy is amazing!

My inspiration comes from my family, seeking ideas on the web, & watching inspiring craft shows to reading books. My art comes from my heart. Making people smile is my favorite thing to do.

I want to personally thank you for stopping by. Please continue to visit throughout the year. I enjoy the energy that comes from people like you.

I hope you are creative in giving, loving and in anything you do, do your best.
Have a wonderful day and a full-filling life.
