Doris Colanero-Romann's Profile

About

I'm a creative person, interested in a lot of things and especially in many kind of crafts. During my studies and especially when I was learning for the exams to make my degree, working with my hands was the most relaxing thing.
I'm married and I have a wonderful little daughter. In a previous life, ages ago, I used to travel a lot. I love, besides crafts, gardening, reading, music, good food and beautiful things of all kinds... Yes, I'm a collector of beautiful things, and the most awful part about it is: the house won't get any bigger.
I'm quite addicted to teddies - I caught the virus a long time ago. I'm a self-tought bear-maker, I started sewing teddies only in 2005, but besides my job I didn't have much time then. One year later I began to make my first own designs. There are so many ideas in my head! Sometimes I think a day should have more than 24 hours.

About

I'm a creative person, interested in a lot of things and especially in many kind of crafts. During my studies and especially when I was learning for the exams to make my degree, working with my hands was the most relaxing thing.

It's amazing to draw, cut, sew and finally look at the creation! Each time I just can't wait to see how a new teddy looks like. Quite often I try a new style, new materials, different shapes and sizes... I like almost all kind of teddy bears, classical ones, the ones with an antique look, whimsical and cuddly teddies and any other creature that looks sweet. Recently, when I was looking for Japanese cotton fabrics, I detected anime style teddies, and I fell a little bit in love with them. Of course I had to try and see how they are made. Same technique, but a new look.

I hope you enjoy all my creatures as much as I do!

I'm living with my family on the countryside near Zurich, Switzerland. I speak English, Italian and a little French, but my mother tongue is Swiss German, so I apologise for any mistakes or some clumsy expressions... :-) If something is not clear to you, don't hesitate to contact me with any questions!

I have another shop soon: www.etsy.com/shop/babelinabutton
