My name is Denny Carlisle. I'm a retired IBM Manager who took up wood carving in 2000 as a result of a woodcarving class my wife got me for Christmas. It was the first of many classes I've taken, and I even began the rewarding experience of teaching wood carving classes at my local WoodCraft store. But I continue to carve to boost Band-Aid sales because I'm heavily invested in Johnson & Johnson!
I started carving basic kitchen implemments out of cherry wood after seeing similar items at the annual River Festival in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 2002. The carver's name was Bob DeWitt from Buffalo Mills, Pennsylvania. I was especially impressed with the beauty of his cherry wood art.
