I was born in Missouri and left for California at age 4 months; then back to Missouri at age 5; then back to California at age 7; it went on like this for several years. My parents couldn't make up their minds.

I began sewing on my Grandma's old treddle sewing machine. I made most of mine and my daughter's clothing. I come from a long line of crafty women and I wouldn't even claim to be in the same class as that of my aunts and my Grandma.

I think my love of quilts came from seeing the beautiful quilts that my Grandma made and that we all still cherish today. She had her family in the late 1800's and early 1900's--no electricity; no in-house plumbing but she still managed to make beautiful hand sewn quilts.
