Melynn Allen's Profile

About

Melynn Allen is a full time potter, working in her at-home studio in a quaint seaside town North of Boston.

Her most recent work incorporates either print, sgraffito, silk-screen, stencils, painting and water abrasion, as well as a combination of techniques for transferring imagery onto clay.

Most of her ideas are derived from what she sees in nature, but she's also inspired by fabric, tapestry, lace and tiles. Lately, she's been using her computer skills to finalize designs before applying them to the ceramic surface. After that, it's just a matter of finding and testing the right process in order to bring them to life in the way she has in mind.
