About

Hi! We're Ethan and Cheryl, a husband-and-wife team that loves to do everything together. When we're not making cute stuff in our studio, we work together at an educational company. Since Ethan was once a fisheries and wildlife biologist, he draws our animal designs; then Cheryl makes them cuter and sews the designs together out of wool felt. (Yes, Cheryl needs her philosophy degrees for that. She asks herself all the time, "What is cute? What is beauty?") We want to make Etsy our full-time job all year!

Wool felt is our favorite material to work with. Natural fibers really make a difference in how an item feels and functions. Our specialty is Christmas stockings, which we put together in a way that makes them useful (fill them up with gifts -- yay!) and long lasting. We make our own patterns, then cut out each piece with sissors, and sew on each button by hand. Then we use the sewing machine to secure it all together. We think a stocking is a special thing that must reflect one's individuality, represent one's love of family and tradition, and capture the spirit of our time. Stockings hold a lot of meaning, so we take their design and construction rather seriously. And we sort of think it would be cool if Santa Claus would endorse our stockings as the best!
