About

My love of art and shiny things started back at that time when I was seven years old, growing up surrounded by cotton fields in the boonies of Bakersfield, Ca. Having limited access to stores in the country, my mother relied on her natural gift for drawing to make our crayon-colored paper dolls and their clothes, including my favorite..... the sparkly diamonds!.

Like my Mother, I also had an inherited ability to draw, but my desire to seriously become an Artist began in earnest about 10 yrs ago. Mainly self- taught, with a vivid imagination and LOTS of practice, I eventually developed my own style, which is based on a look of romantic elegance with just the right touch of bling! I love to paint many of nature's beauties but human eyes along with roses and other flowers, are my favorites. I was especially honored when other painters asked me to teach several eye and rose classes in a local ceramic shop.

I sometimes feel like a "mad painter" because of my brush-mixing and free-hand painting of designs that pop into my head. It's kind of like the painting talks to me after I begin, since I never know what I am going to paint unless it's a custom order. Always trying to push the envelope to come up with something unique and different, brings both frustration and joy....but I wouldn't have it any other way!
