Amy Kollar Anderson's Profile

About

When she is not in the thrift stores, you can find Amy Kollar Anderson collecting bits of plants, rocks and bone in jars in her studio. This combination of natural elements and decorative patterns inspire her detailed narrative paintings. A self-proclaimed “crow,” she adorns these images with glazes of metallic and interference paints combined with layers of glitter.

She survived the bitter wind and cold to receive her B.F.A. from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and went on to Master the Humanities (with a focus in Fine Arts), at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

Amy Kollar Anderson lives with her husband and their four cats in the birthplace of aviation (Dayton, Ohio).
