Ana GC's Profile

About

Born and raised in Mexico I draw a connection between my industrial design background, my mexican roots and my fascination with art deco, repetition, volume and dimension.

For my work, I begin by abstracting shapes and colors of textiles and crafts from Mexico, art deco patterns and repetition. Once I found an element I look for ways to join the pieces and incorporate details of color as seed beads, stones or pearls to construct a final organized arrangements.

The work I make is meant to be worn, but I also intend for it to be an interesting object. I think of my jewelry as intriguing objects that can be wear.
