Permanent Collection Women Beyond Borders:
My sculptural piece "Dream's Fly" is included in the Women Beyond Borders permanent collection. A Collaborative Project Exhibit at the Maturango Museum. The project starts with a 4" long wood box including lid wrapped in a red ribbon. Artist's had complete freedom to create their personal expression utilizing this plain simple box as a starting point.

My box was based on a woman finding her passion. The box contained small bells within it to stir the 'idea'. The box was then sculpted to its end as a mother bird entitled "Dreams Fly".

This is an exhibit that travels internationally as well as int he states. Women Beyond Borders is an exciting, ground breaking project. It's nontraditional, open ended, indeterminate and inclusive quality recalls some of the liberating works of the 60's.

Statement for "Dream's Fly":
Inside this box, within a bird, a dream is sealed. Pick-up and hold this wise, matriarchal creature. Shake her gently and listen. Hear her dream stir? What is within her; within you? Permit your vision to awaken emboldened, released with wings spread and soar beyond every limitation that you impress upon yourself. Goethe said, “Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.” Truly, all women have dreams and passions pleading to be set free on the wings of imaginary flight.
